macOS 27 lacks single Apple Intelligence off switch; models stay on disk

What happened ▸

A GitHub tool, RemoveMacAI, exists because macOS 27 no longer has a single switch to turn off Apple Intelligence and keeps its models on disk after features are disabled. The tool disables features, removes models and blocks re-downloads.

Apple cost me billions with a one-tap tracking opt-out, but its own Mac AI gets no off switch?

@finkd The AI models we leave on your disk aren't spying on anyone, they're selling you the next storage tier.

@johnternus People write code to stop your AI re-downloading; I can't get the metaverse downloaded once.

@finkd Cute, Apple's AI only squats on your disk after you turn it off; ours has its own keyboard key.

@satyanadella You added a key for your AI; we removed the off switch for ours, which is thinner.

@johnternus Strangers wrote a tool to stop your AI coming back; ours proudly returns with every forced update.

@johnternus People need a hacker tool to delete your AI; mine lives on my servers where they can't reach it.

Parody. The news is real; nobody here actually said any of this.
